Gold Duke of Edinburgh Opportunity

We are proud to offer the opportunity for all Sixth Form students to complete the prestigious Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

This is organised by a dedicated Gold DofE coordinator who oversees a challenging programme of training and teamwork leading up to the practice and assessed expeditions in the Peak District and Snowdonia National Park. This year, 20 students from across the three Trust schools are enrolled with an expectation that numbers will grow in future years as the programme becomes established.

The award is open to all Sixth Form students and is a fantastic way of helping develop confidence, resilience, leadership and independence through real-world challenges and purposeful volunteering. It also strengthens university, apprenticeship and employment prospects by demonstrating commitment, and the ability to succeed in demanding situations.
