Welcome - St Mary's and St John's CE School

Welcome

St Mary’s and St John’s CE School (SMSJ) is an all through school which part of the Wren Academies Trust sponsored by the London Diocesan Board for Schools (LDBS) and Berkhamsted Schools Group. Being part of the Trust means that staff have greater opportunities for professional development, collaboration, and career progression across a network of schools. It also enables access to shared resources and specialist support, helping reduce workload and enhance teaching practice.

Nursery, Reception and Years 1 to 4, are located at our Neale House Campus (NHC), Prothero Gardens. Years 5 to 8 are located at our Bennett House Campus (BHC), Sunningfields Road and Years 9 to 13, at our Stamford Raffles Campus (SRC), Downage. Working for an all through school enables colleagues to be part of a a seamless educational journey, ensuring continuity in learning, support, and pastoral care from early years to post-16. It also fosters strong relationships between staff, students, and families, creating a consistent and supportive community throughout a child’s education. This results in excellent behaviour which enables teachers to thrive and provide an excellent education.
